torrington Football Club was formed in 1920 and in the early days played in the Worthing and District Football League . In the 1960s and 1970s we were winning everything in the league so we applied to join the West Sussex Football League . After a couple of seasons in the late 1970s we joined the Sussex County Football Division Two and we have been there ever since .
When the League added another Division , as an intermediate League , we did get relegated twice and promoted back into senior football twice , once winning Division Three in the 2004 / 05 season and we have been in senior football since . The League changed their name in 2015 to Southern Combination Football League with a Premier League , Division One and Division Two ( Intermediate ). We have never won a cup in senior football but have been runners up twice .
At the present time we are looking to improve our ground facilities with a covered seating area , new dugouts and also want to enclose the ground .
