ittingbourne FC is a club based in Kent that was a founder member of the Kent
League having been established in 1886 . Football Focus Magazine caught up with Club Representative Peter Pitts recently to find out more about how they have been getting along lately .
Involvement
He told us , “ I first got involved with the club in the fairly early days of nonleague clubs getting web sites , around 1996 , and I had some web space that I wanted to use and the then chairman Andy Spice invited me on the committee as the press committee member . The web site is thriving and now contains an impressive archive of match reports and news going back to those days .
Of course committee members of non-league clubs don ’ t normally do just one thing and today as well as web master and the programme editor , day announcer and pundit to SFM 106.9 , our very supportive local radio station , not to mention writing articles for magazines like this and a local church magazine and community magazine … almost a full time job !”
The Role
“ The most challenging aspect of the programme editor is trying to get the away teams information and also finding the finance for the programme printing . As the web master , as a club we pride ourselves in getting the match reports , photographs and match day magazine on line as a match day pack as quickly as possible so that puts time scale pressures on me .”
