yton and Crawcrook Albion FC was first established in 1970 when they took over the fixtures of Prudhoe and West Wylam Co-op who had just resigned from the Northern Combination League . They played their first game against Parsons Athletic on Saturday 17th October 1970 with the match ending in a 3-3 draw .
The club received a lottery grant in 1998 which allowed them to move to their current home at Kingsley Park and were also able to install a 3G all-weather pitch thanks to a grant from the football foundation . They clinched promotion to the Northern League at the end of the 2004 / 05 season .
At present , they compete in Northern League Division Two and are led by Chairman Richie Hands who is supported by Treasurer Colin Faddy . The club is looking to progress under their guidance .
So far this season it would be fair to say that they have not enjoyed the campaign that they would have liked , having put together a record of four wins , six draws and twenty one defeats from their thirty one matches . This has left them sitting near the bottom of the table .
They still have time to pull away from the relegation places however and a good run of results would allow them to do so . The current squad is confident that they have the quality to get themselves out of trouble .
The club were recently able to announce the appointment of Peter Bryson as their new first team manager . Bryson had previously been at Wearside League Club Leam Rangers and had also played for Ryton FC when he played under Keith Sheardown and Barry Fleming .
At the time of the appointment Bryson told the club ’ s official website that he was , “ looking forward to getting going and getting Ryton back to where they should be .” His first aim will be to help the club steer clear of relegation which will give him
