xford United was first established in 1893 by local vicar Rev . John Scott-Tucker and Doctor Robert Hitchings . The aim of the club was to use football to bring their community together and it has gone on to become a vital part of the local area ever since .
Their first team currently competes in Football League 1 and have been in steady form so far this season , putting together a record of twelve wins , seven draws and eleven defeats from their thirty matches . This has left them sitting in safe mid-table position with 43 points on the board .
They will now be looking to finish the season with a good run in order to end the campaign on a high . This in turn would help them to build momentum ahead of the off-season when they will look to continue to develop and progress their squad .
The club continues to take its role in the community very seriously and work with hundreds of children every year in schools and grassroots clubs to promote fitness and also help people develop confidence , aspiration and important life skills .
