Alan Tuohey of ‘ The Refreshment Rooms ’ recently took the time to speak with Football Focus Magazine , saying , “ We ’ re an independent gastropub , serving food 7 days a week , 12 -9pm plus breakfast on Saturday & Sunday 8-11am . Our menu changes seasonally , with the latest currently being written and we always ensure that we have quality locally sourced produce .
I have followed Tranmere Rovers since the 1970s although this is a new association which we believe will be mutually beneficial . Last season we had a nice group of Guiseley away fans visit and I thought it was an opportunity to get involved in supporting the game and our local community .”
One of the highlights of the team ’ s performances so far this season has been their superb defence . This has been reflected by the fact that they have conceded just twenty two times , giving them the best record in the league .
Being so tight defensively gives the team the potential to win matches even when they are not playing at the best . It will also help to give their attacking players the confidence to express themselves knowing that one or two goals will often be enough to clinch victory .
This is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and this is reflected by the superb academy set up that they currently have in place . This part of the club looks to provide youngsters with a safe and enjoyable environment in which to play the game whilst helping them to reach their full potential .
It is important for any club looking to be successful over a sustained period of time to be able to produce

their own talent and this is an area that they appear to have covered . It will certainly be exciting to see how their youngsters are able to progress over the coming years .
There is much to admire about the fine set up that Tranmere Rovers currently has in place and if they continue in the same manner a return to the Football League may not be too far away . Hopefully they will be able to continue to do well and everyone at Football Focus Magazine wishes them the best of luck for the rest of the season .
