have too many . Training nights even in the real cold and wet have seen fantastic attendance with all our players wanting to get a shirt for Saturday .
“ At this level the social side of the game is so important and both our fundraisers this year have seen us sell out completely weeks before the event . We encourage all players to stay and have a drink after the games and at training and on Saturday evenings the club house is a buzzing , lively place for a drink .
“ We are in great shape for the second half of the season . The 1st team are second in Division 1 and are still in the North Berks Cup . The Reserves , after two back to back promotions in the last two seasons are in the bottom half of Division 3 but are still in the County Cup ( berks and bucks ) and play their 4th round tie in mid- January plus they have the quarter finals
of the AG Kingham Cup . The A team are currently top of Division 5 and still in the league cup . This season they have so far only lost one league game . It should pan out to be a great season at the ‘ Wally ’.
“ The plans for the rest of this campaign are massive and very exciting . With the 1st team in a very strong position in Division 1 with the strongest squad for a long time , backed up by a very strong and hard working committee the club are applying to return to the Hellenic league for next season .
“ This is a fantastic step up and forward , one we plan to take with both hands and not only compete but challenge for honours . A lot of hard work and fundraising ahead for us all , but one we go into with our eyes wide open and up for a fantastic challenge to bring the club forward .
“ The reserves staying in Division 3 is also key as we would love to bring the A team into Division 4 in only their second season . The A team was set up at the start of last season by Arthur Morris who came to the club with a youth team from the local village Brightwell .
“ Arthur was bringing these 16 year olds into men ’ s football and wanted to integrate them into the club . The idea was to build a side of the young lads with a few older players . This has worked so well and today we have three of these now 17 year olds holding down regular places in the 1st team squad . The idea is to keep the A team for that main reason ; to keep bringing 16 year old players into men ’ s football .
“ We are very active in the Town in Wallingford and work very closely with the Wallingford 115 charity . We have
