made them the team to beat locally, while the Reserves have
also added various County League trophies to the club’s
honours list in recent years.
In 2011/12 the third team (the Casuals) dropped just 2pts all
season and were crowned Division 5 champions in January.
It’s rumoured to be the earliest recorded title win in County
League history.
The club is built on friendship and loyalty, something that
helped it overcome several setbacks including a double
tragedy in the 1990s. It was voted Charter Standard Adult
Club of the Year for the East Riding and Yorkshire Region in
both 2008 and 2009.
At present they play their home games at the Easington
Recreation and Sports Ground on Beck Street and their
first team competes in the Premier Division of the Humber
Premier League. They are led by Chairman Doug Clubley
who is supported by General Manager Richard Lusmore
and the club is looking to progress under their guidance.
So far this season it would be fair to say that their first team
has not put together the start to the campaign that they
would have liked, compiling a record of one win, one draw
and four defeats from their six matches. This has left them
with four points on the board.
They will now be looking to put together a good run of form
as soon as possible in order to climb away from the bottom
of the league. As long as they can keep their current group of
players together and bolster the squad with one or two new
names they shouldn’t have anything to worry about.
Although the start to the season has been a difficult one for
Easington, this should not take away from the good work
being carried out at the club. Football Focus Magazine
wishes them the best of luck for the future.
