F
irst established in 2006, Leeds City FC came about following the merger of Adel
FC, Abbey Grange Old Boys FC and City Vixens FC. Leeds City Juniors was formed at the
same time with teams from Abbey Grange Old Boys and Leeds City Vixens.
The junior set up at Abbey Grange had
been set up by Mark McFarlane and Dave
Booth. Mark went on to become Head of
the Senior Section and manager of Leeds
City Academy side while Dave acted as
treasurer of the juniors until 2010.
The progress that Leeds City Juniors has
made since first being established is there

for everyone to see and was recognised
when they became an FA Charter
Community Standard Club in 2006.
They have continued to develop since
then and a kindergarten was established
in 2008 on a Saturday morning for
children from four to seven years old.
This section of the club has proven to
be a terrific success and continues to be
popular, providing the chance for young
players to play in a fun environment where
children can learn and develop prior to
being old enough to play in the U8 team.
