impressive 4-1 victory over Walton Casuals to make it three
games unbeaten. Marc McGrath netted his first goal of the
season in the match and it was also his 50th for the club.
Speaking of the achievement to GuernseyFC.com he said,
“It’s a good feeling. The whole team dug deep to get the
result we needed. It’s always good to get on the scoresheet. I
didn’t realise it was the 50th. It’s a good milestone to hit in a
short space of time - happy days.”
It was a good way to bounce back from a thirteen game
winless run and they will now be looking to continue their
good run of form in order to climb the table as quickly as
possible.
McGrath is clearly pleased with the improvements the side
has been showing, saying, “That’s the thing with football,
once you get one, more start to follow. We’ll keep working
hard. We are doing the right things in training and playing
good football so luckily for us we are now turning all that
into results and we hope it continues.”
With plenty of the season left to play there is time for the side
to climb the league and have a successful campaign. It will
certainly be exciting to see how they are able to progress.
Guernsey FC has made a tremendous amount of progress
since first being established and continues to play a vital role
in their local community. With their disappointing start to
the season now hopefully behind them they should be able
to look forward to a bright and successful future for many
years to come.
