Ashington FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/FOOTYFOCUSMAG “Over the coming years our plan is to continue to build a sustainable community club, giving local people the opportunity of watching football at the highest level possible.” The club were recently given a boost recently when they were able to announce that midfield playmaker Paul Anthony had returned to the club. He had previously represented the team during the 2012/13 season with his final appearance coming in the final of the Northumberland Senior Cup at St James Park where they defeated Whitley Bay. Speaking to the club’s official website www.ashingtonafc. com recently, Anthony said, “Looking back I regretted moving on - I should never have left. My last game was the Northumberland Senior Cup final win which was a great memory – and I’m delighted to be back.” Anthony came on as a substitute in their recent FA Vase tie against Easington and will be looking to re-establish himself at the club as quickly as possible. There is clearly much to admire about the fine set up that Ashington FC currently has in place. If they continue in the same manner they are sure to be able to look forward to a bright and successful future.
