Worthing Worthing FOOTBALL CLUB W orthing FC was first established in 1886 and has put together a history of which they have every right to be proud. They are based on Woodside Road in West Sussex and their first team currently competes in the Ryman League Division One South. This season their first team has put together a solid league campaign, having compiled a record of 18 wins, 10 draws and 13 defeats from their 41 matches played to date. This has left them sitting just outside of the play-off spots with 64 points on the board. It looks unlikely that they will be able to make the play-offs this time around as games run out but they will be keen to put together a good run of form in order to finish on a high. This would provide them with a solid platform upon which to build during the off-season. One of the highlights of their performances this season has been the attacking brand of football that they have been producing. This has been reflected by the fact that they have found the back of the net 80 times at a rate of nearly two per game. This will certainly have meant that any of their supporters will have been well entertained and should encourage more of the local community to get behind the side in the future. This in turn has the potential to provide them with a valuable source of additional revenue. Worthing is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however as they also have a youth side in place. This team look to provide youngsters from the local area with an opportunity to play the game Worthing Club Info - www.worthingfootballclub.co.uk - Twitter : @Worthing_FC - Founded 1886 www.sportip.biz 79
