We have grown a good working relationship with Swansea City this season and our links with Cardiff City have also got better over the last 24 months. We are always looking at developing our academy structure so we can bring more players into our first team set up.” Challenges/Ambitions “The development of the stadium will be a big challenge for us along with trying to grow our fan base with so many big clubs in the local area. Newport has always fell foul of the TV culture of people watching their premiership clubs on a Saturday rather than supporting their home town side but we are working as hard as possible to change it. The club would love to be in League One in the next 5 years with gates of 4,500-5,000 per home game and we will continue to work as hard as possible in pulling this off.
