Willand Rovers FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/FOOTYFOCUSMAG So for the club as we approach March we are still in the mix in three competitions which is great news. As for where we will end up we all can dream of winning all three but realistically a cup win and a top three place would be a very good season. The club have started to look at the youth sides currently with us; both the U15s and 16s are unbeaten in their league programme. The U16s won their league last year and the U15s came second in the league and won the cup. Our U18s have just qualified for the Devon under 18s County Cup Final. Such is the promise of these youngsters that we are applying to join the Somerset Floodlight league giving these lads a feel for travelling and playing as they would in the senior side. The next step is to start getting theses lads into our reserves and hopefully into the first team. A lot of these youths are local boys so getting them playing for the local team is always good news. It strengthens already good community links and this year we arranged a Santa run in aid of the local school. The preschool often use our facilities and we have recently made a donation to a local community project that had their equipment stolen in a burglary. We are also a venue for parties’ for both children and adults. As to the future, we desperately want to apply for promotion to Step 4. That If you need the services of experienced professional car mechanics, then you can rely on K and S Auto Services. means we have much ground work to do. In the last 2 years we have invested over £100k into the off field projects. We have created new changing facilities, we have redeveloped the club house and we have improved the car parking area. Now we need to build a new stand and outside toilet facility as well as needing turnstiles and other such items to ensure we have the correct ground grading to go up. Our biggest challenge is doing all those things within our means and maybe one day look to move away from our home for the last 55 years to a new all-purpose built facility with multiple pitches. MARTIN STOCKER PLASTERING, ARTEX & COVING We’ve been providing the people of Willand, Cullompton, Tiverton and the surrounding areas with all you’d expect from a dedicated team of expert car mechanics for over three decades.
