WEST END development sessions at West End on a Friday evening and many of our team’s goal keepers are now benefiting from this quality coaching. We are quite conservative really as a club. We have many great things to talk about and seldom do we broadcast them very well. We were one of the first grass root cubs to invest in a defibrillator, and really only celebrated this life saving unit with our members. Jason, our other development committee member is not only a UEFA B qualified coach but also a Coach Tutor for the Manchester FA. Jason had the pleasure of an invite from the FA to be the second man drawing the balls out for this seasons 2nd round dr aw for the FA Cup live on the BBC. They did a short VT on him as part of his coaching role at West End in his introduction on the program. Our primary challenge now is to bring the current facilities into the specification required for modern day football. We have a sports hall on the premises the size of an 18 yard box, and a grass pitch the size required for 9v9. So we can’t train inside due to space and outside isn’t possible with the number of teams on the grass, it wouldn’t last 10 minutes. We do know this is going to be an expensive project and one that will take time to progress but we feel confident that our affiliated FA and local council will support us through our challenge to collate the funding to assist with an upgrade/redevelopment to a 3G surface, preferably indoor. Simply put, our ambition isn’t to be the most successful in terms of trophies, but to be the most successful in terms of having invested in courses to ensure we have the best coaches that allow us to continue to offer development of our young players in both football and as individuals.” “There is a really good feel about the club at the minute and a real optimistic view from our current crop of coaches.” www.sportip.biz 49
