WEST END FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/FOOTYFOCUSMAG West End FOOTBALL CLUB West End AFC has been established since 1970, and has grown significantly not just in size but in status with the FA over that period. They are now classed a Charter Standard Community Club, and continue to look for ways to grow the club on and off the field. Setting up a soccer school in 2007 has enabled the club to begin coaching children from 4 years through to open age. West End now has over 14 boy’s teams with over 200 members playing in 2 different leagues. Just this season they have managed to acquire a further 3 elite girls teams which really demonstrates the main aim of the club offering football in the community, for all levels of ability and to ensure that the children enjoy their time at the club. Club Representative Mark Crannage took the time to tell us more about the good work that they have been doing lately. He told us, “There is a really good feel about the club at the minute and a real optimistic view from our current crop of coaches. The Clubs overall philosophy is to be all inclusive and give every child a fair amount of football regardless of ability and support the FA’s RESPECT campaign. Youth football is our bread and butter and we have been happy to see many of our players move into academies 48 Issue 54 of the premier league clubs and continue to supply them season after season.
