Tipton Town “The mood at the club at the moment is buoyant, excited and looking forward to the next game.” win over Sporting Khalsa, the football club parted company with their recently appointed first team management team and the aftermath left them with just three locally registered players. Director of Football Mike Pitt who was in charge of the clubs youth development, quickly put together a side with local home grown under 18 & U21’s players to represent their Town club in the MFL. After a few weeks a new management team of Nicky Pugh and Wes Cox were put in place. Both have a long established links with the club and are looking forward the challenge ahead. Secretary Ann Wheale took the time to talk with Football Focus Magazine, saying, “I have been with Tipton Town since my son, Matthew, started to play in TTFC’s under 7’s and he’s now playing for on Saturdays in the JPL league in under 15’s. The mood at the club at the moment is buoyant, excited and looking forward to the next game. So far the season hasn’t gone too well with us having to part company with the manager we brought in in the close season, but with the appointment of Nicky Pugh and Wes Cox we are turning everything around. Youth football is extremely important to the club, as it’s the life blood and future. The first team is the pinnacle of the club, but grassroots is extremely important with developing the players from all ages from our under 7’s to our 1st team and we also have a ladies team. The club’s ambition is first and foremost to survive, with hopefully investment to sustain the clubs future.” Tipton, West Midlands: Mobile: 07747 113340 No load to big or to small we can cater for all!
