FOOTBALL CLUB
Copthorne FC has enjoyed a fine season this time around and
have been making superb progress in recent times. Football Focus
Magazine recently caught up with their Chairman Andrew Beadle
to find out more about how the club has been getting along lately.
Involvement Present
He told us, “I have been involved with Copthorne FC
from 2005. Since 2005 Copthorne Rovers had been playing
in the Mid Sussex League, but with the growing strength
of football of both Adult and Youth within the Village and
the then lack of facilities to support this growth, a new
approach was required to ensure that a stable platform
was introduced to deliver and support this growing need.
Copthorne FC was formed twelve years ago to
encourage players from Copthorne Youth FC to progress
from youth to adult football. Last season there were three
teams playing in the Gary Hooper Holt LLP Mid Sussex
Football League, and another successful season saw all
three teams win awards.” “There is a feeling of positivity at the club both for this
season and the future. Yes, we have our frustrations and
challenges to meet, but everyone remains committed to
the journey we are on. Our season thus far can only be
seen as a positive one.
We now have some additional works to complete at
the ground and will also attend AGM’s and Presentation
nights alongside our own. So the social aspect of the clubs
activities is a busy one at this time as this all feeds into our
club development with our sponsors.”
