Corby Town
This Season
“I believe on our day we are probably the best
footballing side in the league, but consistency is the key
at every level and unfortunately we have struggled with
this.
Whether that is due to immaturity or ability, I am
not sure, that is Kinnies dilemma. But to be fair, we gave
ourselves a chance, and in all fairness, I would have taken
that at the start of the season.”
Growth
“Accommodating all of the teams and sections we
have at the club now is one of the biggest challenges we
have faced. We have a ladies team that were promoted
last season and have progressed well this season. We
are hoping to develop a girls under 18’s for the coming
season, and we currently have 100 girls in the 16’s and
below sections. We are also running the girls wildcats
sessions over the next couple of months.
We have the boys under 18’s which is probably the
most successful section of the club. Not only winning
trophies on a regular basis, but also supplying players to
the first team. The full time academy is another source of
players for the first team, the majority of these lads not
only playing regular football and learning, once they get
their level 1 FA coaching certificate, they are working
for the club coaching primary children in the schools of
Corby.
We also have the junior academy, of which we have
over 75 boys in the academy from the age of 16 down.
They compete in the JPL which is a very good level of
football.
And finally, as of next season, we have a grassroots
section. 350 boys from 16 down will represent the club
in the Weetabix youth league, giving the club a fully
comprehensive section of the community.
And we are not finished yet!”

Support
“As the club no longer has the benefit of grants from
the council, we rely heavily on Paul Glass putting his
hand in his pocket to subsidise the first team, and not only
does sponsorship come into play for the first team but for
all sections of the football club. And without this all those
sections would cease to exist.
I’d like to say a massive thank you from all of the board
to our supporters. The support for all of our games home
and away has been fantastic. Especially as we have not
had a lot to cheer about in previous seasons. But I believe
the brand of football Steve is trying to produce is not only
better to watch but hopefully more successful.
If you put into £’s the amount of hours our volunteers
put into the club through the course of the season, it would
go into hundreds of thousands of pounds!
From the ground staff (just look at our facility) it is one
to be proud of. Our match day volunteers and all of the
managers and coaches who work tirelessly throughout
the year. It makes you proud to be a part of this club and
this town!
Mon the Steelmen!”
