There were league and cup successes this season throughout all the age groups within our junior set up with our under 16’s winning the North Wales Cup for the first time in the club’s history. We have very good players coming through the ranks who will hopefully end up playing for our first team in a couple of years. Our reserve side is full of 16 to 21 year olds. We run our reserves side as a youth side, we focus on high quality football and coaching which gives the youngsters a platform into adult football.” Community “We are most definitely a community club but we are constantly working to improve our relationships with the local communities to promote, amongst other things, the benefits of sport and football in particular as a pathway to both physical and mental well- being. We plan to work closely with schools and local physical, cognitive and learning disability groups to offer sporting opportunities to those who might not otherwise have access to such activity.” Challenges “The biggest challenges facing the club will not only be staying up in the 2nd tier of Welsh football but also on planning a sustainable financial future. This future depends on a robust business model for efficient and effective governance with realistic plans for the building of a modern multipurpose Club House that will serve both the Club and the local community seven days a week. We also want to improve the small MUGA pitch at the ground by converting it to a 3G surface for use by the local community, and in particular for youth football coaching our training. In a nutshell the biggest challenge is to make sure that we improve our assets, both on and off the pitch, Considerable expertise in many business sectors including: • Caravan Parks • Retail • Estate Agents • Solicitors • Accountants • Manufacturers • Building & DIY • Charities & Social Enterprises • Steel Fabricators • Beauty & Leisure • Glazing & Conservatories • Financial Services • E-commerce • Social Care • Education • Civil Engineering • Recruitment • Agriculture • Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Tel: 01492 535 000 Web: www.compsoluk.com 18 Wynnstay Road, Colwyn Bay, LL29 8NB to create a vibrant progressive community minded Club with good teams and good facilities creating a Club for the Town to support and be proud of.” Ambitions “Our aim is to establish ourselves as a tier 2 club with the aim of being in a position to challenge for the league title and promotion to the Welsh Premier League. To achieve this we will need to create sources for sustainable income generation, we will need to develop partnerships with potential sponsors and investors to achieve the Club’s ambitions. We plan to work more closely with Llangefni Town Juniors to create a “One Club” philosophy with a view to setting up an Academy with high quality coaching of players (male and female) hopefully creating a feed of young players for the future of Llangefni Town. We also need to work hard to improve and maintain the pitch and the facilities of the stadium to enhance the player and spectator experience, while meeting standards required in the higher tiers of Welsh football.” www.footballfocusmag.com 13
