Good Eats! Restaurant Weeks Restaurant weeks are mini-foodie celebrations that last from 7-14 days, and usually include special deals and/or prix fixe menus for diners during that time. Hundreds of restaurants within a given area participate, and fine-dining is much more accessible as a weeknight dinner. Special menu items are revealed by chefs to promote the restaurants, and reservations are strongly encouraged. Two cities with upcoming restaurant weeks are Pittsburgh and Chicago. Pittsburgh will host its kickoff party on January 7th and the preview weekend of the 8th-10th will announce early specials. Dine your way through Pittsburgh, where you will find new dishes for the new year, places where you can bring your own booze, and cocktail-specific celebrations. Featured restaurants on Pittsburgh’s winter 2016 list include but are not limited to: Asiago’s Tuscan Italian, Meat & Potatoes, Morton’s Steakhouse, Nine on Nine, Osteria 2350, BRGR, Eddie Merlot’s, and The Twisted Frenchman. 52 FoodTraveler l Winter 2016 The Twisted Frenchman is an upscale dining experience, where you may receive a sit-down menu or choose the Chef’s Table, which is a 14 course prix fixe dinner that is served at this table only. Reservations for the Chef’s Table are suggested to be placed 2-4 weeks in advance. The
