GOOD LIFE IN THE
Sullivan County
Catskills
Sullivan County, NY
Cascades of swirling, colorful leaves become flurries of
twirling, white snowflakes - it’s time for the comfortable
and social Good Life in the Sullivan County Catskills - as
nature’s bounty of food and spirits accent coziness and
relaxation. Friends, family and a round of cheer pair nicely with a great meal, so head out.
Travel north on RT 17 to Roscoe and the Roscoe Beer
Company’s smooth and creamy Two Headed Stout and
Prohibition Distillery’s Tasting Room with Vodka, Whiskey and Gin. Next, it’s up to Lew Beach for the Beaverkill
Valley Inn and 4 courses of Beaverkill trout and locally
sourced specialties. Then, over to the Manor for something wild - the Catskill Brewery’s Freak Tractor (Model
14) and a short ride to Parksville where the Rolling River
Cafe offers intimate seating, organic ingredients, and an
art gallery.
Explore west on RT 17B. Your first stop is the Catskill Distilling Company to celebrate the ‘60s with Peace Vodka
or Most Righteous Bourbon and next door to the Dancing Cat Saloon for a Hendrix Burger in preparation for
a stop at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, site of the
1969 Woodstock Festival. Follow 17B through the twisting, scenic Callicoon Creek gorge to the Callicoon Brewing
Company and Café, in an old firehouse, where a Callicoon
Brown Cow Porter goes really well with Beef on Weck. Or,
stroll to Matthew’s on Main for Matthew and Dominique’s
gourmet brunch.
Head toward the City on RT 17 and take the Wurtsboro
exit for the Bashakill Vineyards & Farm Brewery’s tasting
room for an antipasto platter and solid Germanic whites,
oak aged reds and full bodied stouts aged in wine casks.
Nearby, Danny’s serves up their famous sandwiches in a
century old inn and The Old Gristmill is worth the short
drive for a special meal to cap off the day.
Snug, intimate and relaxed – The Good Life – for fall and
winter fun, in the Sullivan County Catskills.
