Weeks
Restaurant weeks are a great way to try out new or
fancy places without having to pay full price or wait in a
horrendous line of other hopeful patrons, straining their
bodies and their wallets simply to get on the reservation
list. Instead of comparing your dinner experience to
Black Friday, simply look up your local restaurant
weeks, where you can find information on how to re-
ceive these deals, and which restaurants will be partic-
ipating in the week as well.
Take for example NYC’s Summer Restaurant Week. This
summer, the restaurant week will be from July 24 th to
August 18 th , with reservations being open for booking
on July 10 th . More than 300 different restaurants will be
participating, as with every year, all throughout NYC.
Restaurant weeks are tricky, because they are not al-
ways available on the weekends, such as with NYC’s
week. Most restaurants will only participate during the
week, so Saturdays and Sundays you’ll have to pay full
price as normal. There will be prix-fixe menus, where
typically you’ll get to choose from 3-4 choice appetiz-
ers, 3 entrees, and a minimum of two desserts. To go
along with the prix-fixe, many restaurants will offer drink
specials and à la carte options to add to your night out.
Reservations are highly recommended for all NYC
Restaurant weeks, but walk-ins are welcome any time.
If you plan to run through the week with more intimate
company, such as you and your spouse, you may have
better luck getting seated, rather that traveling with a
larger party.
Make sure you look up local information on your re-
gion’s website, to stay up to date on restaurant weeks
in your area. Bigger areas, like NYC, will have many
more participants as far as the week goes, but higher
prices as well. If you have a restaurant week in your
area, but you don’t see the restaurant that you wanted
to try participating, you can try calling the restaurant and
they will usually come up with a way to accommodate
you. There are many different restaurant weeks
throughout the year, so if the summer season isn’t in
your budget, save for a fall or winter night out, and pair
your dinner with a special holiday stout.
