IFS Food 6
The IFS Food 6, April 2014 is now
available on the IFS website, in
English, French, German, Italian and
Spanish languages.
This updated version is not a new
version, but a consolidated version including all requirements and
clarifications provided by IFS since
publication of IFS Food 6 (e.g. including doctrine references, erratum,
newsletters, etc.). In this document,
all modifications are visible with the
references “modified”, deleted” and
“added”.
This updated version is applicable
at latest on 1st July 2014. As this
update impacts e.g. IFS Food certificate template, an updated version
of auditXpress will be available end
of June.
In parallel, an IFS doctrine version
3 is also published, as some rules
of doctrine version 2 needed to be
either withdrawn or deleted. Again,
this doctrine doesn’t provide new
requirements but updates the previous ones and cancels the no longer
valid ones.
Main topics which have been addressed in the IFS Food 6, April 2014
are:
• Update of some requirements (incl.
10
• Update of requirements 4.4.5 and
5.6. about food integrity
•
Introduction
of
updated
requirements
on
management of outsourced processes
• Clarification of management of
product(s) exclusion from the IFS
Food audit scope (a questionnaire is
available on IFS website here, to be
filled in by certification bodies)
• Update of requirements for already qualified train-the-trainers
• Clarification of audit types which
are accepted for IFS witness audits
(both before applying to IFS Food
exams and to be performed every 2
years for already approved IFS Food
auditors).
The IFS Broker 2 roadshow already started in France, Germany and
Spain and has seen a huge success.
Due to the success of this event,
IFS may organize further sessions in
2014 in different countries, therefore please don’t hesitate to contact us
if you are interested to join.
More detailed information about
new version of IFS Broker standard
will be in separate article in next issue of Food Quality Magazine.
IFS Logistics 2.1
The new IFS Logistics version 2.1
is obligatorily applicable from
01.09.2014. After this date, audits according to IFS Logistics version
2.0 will not be possible anymore.
Combined audits IFS Broker/ IFS
Logistics will also be possible with
IFS Logistics version 2.1. In these
cases, one audit will be conducted
but a separate audit report and a
separate certificate for each standard (IFS Broker and IFS Logistics)
will be issued.
Requirement 2.2.3.6.1 about determination of CCPs cannot be assessed
as NA anymore and shall always
be assessed, even if the audited
company doesn’t have implemented
any CCPs (as the auditor shall always
assess the logical approach taken
by the company to determine CCPs
and/ or CPs).
The new IFS Logistics 2.1 Standard is
now published. Main reasons for the
revision were the adoption of a new
scope of recognition for “Storage
and Distribution” by the Global Food
Safety Initiative (GFSI) and the IFS
willingness to apply for the GFSI
Benchmark process for IFS Logistics
Standard. For fulfilling the GFSI
Benchmark process, IFS Logistics 2.0
needed some reviews. This new IFS
Logistics Standard was developed by
a specific Logistics Working Group
composed with experts from with
retail, logistics companies and certification bodies.
The annual training frequency on
food defense has been removed
in requirement 6.3.2 and has been
