New sponsor for National Forklift Safety Month
Windsor Materials Handling has confirmed that it will sponsor the Fork Lift Truck Association ’ s National Forklift Safety Month 2018 .
The annual safety campaign , which runs throughout the month of September , was launched in 2008 to raise awareness of key issues affecting forklift safety for operators , as well as their colleagues .
The latest statistics from the HSE reveal that every working day in the UK , five people are left with life-changing injuries , such as dislocations and amputations , as a result of forklift accidents .
A steadfast supporter of the campaign since its inception , Windsor is one of the UK ’ s largest independent suppliers of materials handling equipment and a long-serving Member of the FLTA .
Explaining the company ’ s decision to take its safety commitment to the next level , managing director Stephen Burton from Windsor Materials Handling said : “ The Fork Lift Truck Association does a lot of fantastic and important work to drive the conversation around lift truck safety .
“ It ’ s a subject the whole team at Windsor feel very strongly about … which is why we made the decision to sponsor safety month . It underlines our commitment creating safer workplaces – not just for ourselves , for our customers and the wider industry , too .
