Peter had tried unsuccessfully to find alternative accommodation. He was distressed and at risk of self-harm. Peter then met with a Housing SA Access Worker to discuss housing options and determine his eligibility for financial assistance. Housing SA helped Peter arrange a crisis mental health assessment and provided financial assistance and support to find an alternative private rental property. Housing SA also provided a referral to a local not-for-profit support service to help Peter get back on his feet and maintain a successful tenancy. Peter has now secured a 12-month lease and is doing well. Focus May 2016 | 23
