Female leaders
set to make a difference
CURRENT and aspiring female leaders from
multicultural workplaces and organisations
are skilling up to benefit the state’s
diverse communities.
The 2016 Multicultural SA Women’s Leadership
Course is underway, with 20 women working
towards a Certificate IV in Leadership and
Management by the end of the year.
Last year, 15 women from 12 countries
graduated from the free program. Course
graduate Seema Keezhil, originally from Kerala
in Southern India, said she learned from fellow
classmates about the importance of cultural,
ethnic and religious diversity.
“It motivated me to start the Women’s Wing
for the Adelaide Metropolitan Malayalee
Association,” she said. “This Association aims to
provide formal and informal leadership training
for women and promote relationship building
with other multicultural communities.”
