Time to mark achievements
ARE YOU keen to recognise and celebrate the
many achievements of people with disability?
Many events and acknowledgement days
are held across South Australia each year.
They include:
• Disability, Ageing and Lifestyles Expo
(23 September) – provides the latest
information, products and services to people
with disability and older South Australians.
• International Day of People with Disability
(3 December) – recognises the contribution
that people with disability and their families

and carers make to the community, and aims
to increase awareness and acceptance of
people with disability.
• International Wheelchair Day (1 March) –
highlights the important role of wheelchairs
and their positive impact on people’s lives.
The Department for Communities and Social
Inclusion is often involved in such events,
providing a range of information about services
and programs for people with disability.
