Awards celebrate
wealth of cultural diversity
OUTSTANDING achievements in
multiculturalism were recognised at South
Australia’s prestigious Governor’s Multicultural
Awards on 22 March 2016.
the Migrant Women’s Support Service, the
Women’s and Children’s Hospital Women’s and
Babies’ Division, the Adelaide Kurdish Youth
Society, Guildhouse and Songbird the Magpie.
Fourteen South Australian groups and
individuals (pictured above) were awarded for
their contribution to cultural diversity, from a
field of 72 nominations.
More than 400 people attended the event,
hosted by His Excellency the Honourable Hieu
Van Le AO, Governor of South Australia, and
Mrs Lan Le at Government House in Adelaide.
Individual winners were Bill Spurr AO, Ellie
Scutchings, Michael Dulaney, Fida Hussain,
Jodie Edwards, Megan Lamb, Seema
Keezhil, Khalid Farooqi and Theo Andruszcko
(deceased). Organisational winners included
