Williams Vice President and Secretary Monica R. Hargrove As we join in celebration of the holiday season, I want to divert from my usual #FlyWashington remarks to thank you, the traveling public, for choosing Ronald Reagan National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport as your gateways to the National Capital Region. Our dedicated employees at our Airports strive year-round to make your travel experience pleasant, convenient and memorable–sharing in your joy, delight and occasional stress as you embark on your journey. Throughout 2017, we’ve been humbled, inspired and proud to help our passengers make unique, lasting and personal memories. We’ve been humbled by an outpouring of support for hurricane victims as volunteers and relief supplies flowed through Dulles International. We were inspired as children with special needs participating in Wings for All overcame their apprehension of flight. And our pride abounded with each U.S. military veteran Honor Flight arrival at Reagan National. Within this issue of #FlyWashington, we emphasize the gift of travel–both tangible and experiential. From features in the Airport Gift Guide and the Museum Gift Guide to memories made on adventures to our nonstop destinations at home and abroad, our hope is that we’re able to give you with an enjoyable travel experience as your journey takes you through our Airports. Winter is a special time of year in the Metropolitan Washington area, which comes to life with musical performances, holiday markets and a unique international flare. And while we each choose to celebrate the holidays in our own tradition and custom, at the Airports Authority, the season–replete with food, family and festive gatherings–evokes a sense of nostalgia and thankfulness that brings us together. Despite the inevitable change–and occasional challenge–winter brings, I assure you that the Airports Authority will continue to work for the gift of serving you. We hope you enjoy this issue of #FlyWashington magazine, and on behalf of all Airports Authority employees and partners, happy holidays. President and Chief Executive Officer John E.
