She drives us to the coast

Because the only thing that can stop her now

Is an ocean.

She falls to her knees and

She roars back at the waves,

Screaming an apology, receiving nothing.

And I stand, wrapped in a blanket

And I stand and watch her.

The power of the water is lost on me.

Compared to her nothing is remarkable.

(The ocean shrinks back, the sun bows down)

She knows,

And they know.
