the planets more stunning

than reflected on your

dripping coastal lips

but when the whirlpool spins

and foam chokes your lungs

i will make you wonder

if the pain is worth

the passion

worst regards,

the ocean

i allowed

the ocean to carry

me away

there’s no place

i’d rather be

i crave the taste

of salt on my tongue

i’ve learned to ride

the billows and waves

like a carousel

taking the ups

with the downs

holding shells to my ear

to hear the music within

i’ve learned to watch for

stars even through

the darkest of nights

froth fills my lungs

drowning

is worth it
