Pink Up the Pace
In its 9 th year, Pink Up the Pace is the largest 5K race in
St. Augustine. The race helps support those diagnosed
with breast cancer in St. Augustine and the surrounding
area. The race begins at 8 a.m. north of the City Gate in
downtown St. Augustine. Day-of registration begins at 7 a.m.
at Francis Field. The race route takes runners along
Avenida Menendez through Lincolnville along
St. George Street and ends at Francis Field. The registration

Founding of the Castillo de San Marcos
Visit the Castillo de San Marcos and join park staff,
volunteers and members of Florida Living History to
commemorate the founding of the fort. Visitors will learn
how the fort was planned and constructed to protect the
St. Augustine community. There will be interpretations and
demonstrations on the construction of the fort 10 a.m.-
4 p.m. and a re-enactment of the 1672 groundbreaking
ceremony at 3 p.m. The fort is open 8:45 a.m.-5 p.m. General
admission into the fort is $10; youth ages 15 and under are
free. Admission to the historical re-enactment on the fort
