This is the 350 th anniversary of Searle’s Raid. On Friday starting at 4:30 p.m., there will be a call to arms and procession on St. George Street and Cathedral Place to the City Gate. On Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., there will be a historic encampment with 17th century weapons, clothing, equipment, camp life and social activities shown and demonstrated at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, 11 Magnolia Ave. The re-enacted battle will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Plaza de la Constitución and will progress to the City Gate. The race starts and ends at the vacant lot near the Publix Shopping Center. The races will conclude with fun family activities, including a bounce house, music, face painting and post-run food.
