KEVIN KARLSON
For more than three decades , Kevin T . Karlson has been traveling the world photographing birds and wildlife .
As a noted wildlife photographer , his work is widely published in birding magazines , journals , as well as books , field guides and calendars , including “ Birds of the Arctic Tundra ”. He worked closely with Peter Thayer in creating the CD-Rom “ The Cornell Lab of Ornithology ’ s Guide to Birds of North America ” as head ornithologist , photo researcher and submitter of almost 800 photos .
In addition to photography , Kevin has also penned various articles on birds . With Michael O ’ Brien and Richard Crossley , he co-authored “ The Shorebird Guide ”. The book contains almost 700 photos and outlines a simpler method of bird identification for beginners and experts alike .

Next , we cover light awareness and how it allows us to properly expose subjects and scenes using basic lighting principles . Kevin also shares important flight / action techniques , including synchronous panning and quick compensation for white , neutral or dark subjects . Artistic cropping and various compositional options for sitting subjects are shared in personal instruction with each participant .
