The Future The future may bring custom space vacations for the average family, however, that could be merely the beginning of what is to come. Looking back, NASA technology enabled today’s LED light bulbs, water purification systems, firefighter gear and temper foam (think mattresses), to name a few. Future applications of today’s aerospace research may currently be unimaginable, but those applications look promising for the Space Coast as a legacy of space exploration and research continues, now dominated by commercial projects. As NASA and the military spearhead aerospace services, Space Florida recognizes the influence of aerospace companies in the growing industry and seeks to secure Florida as the gateway for exploration in the solar system.
