A native Floridian, growing up as a "tomboy", I was very active and involved in sports from a young child, through elementary school, high school and into college. Being healthy and living a healthy lifestyle has always been very important to me. Looking through fitness magazine as a young child, I thought to myself, "Wow these girls look amazing and I would love to do that one day".
After college, I was afraid of what I would do to remain living a healthy lifestyle now that sports were over. So I decided to join a gym and hire a trainer to teach me the correct way to lift weights and work out since this was all new to me. In doing so, I was working out with my trainer one day and he asked, “Do you want to compete?" I thought, "Well yes but had no clue where to start." Needless to say, that day was the start.
I started contest prep for my first competition in 2003, where I competed in figure. It was so different than the training I was use to, but I loved it. In 2003, I did the Mid Florida Classic and won my class. Super pumped and excited, I then moved onto the Southeast USA's and placed 3rd, qualifying me for National Level. Taking a break from the stage, I returned to compete again the end of 2007 and back on stage in 2008, again competing in figure participating in the following competitions:
