The goals I have in the fitness industry are probably not the typical; expectation to obtain my "pro card" as many athletes do. Of course, if that should happen in my journey, that would be fantastic, however my main goals are more personal. Being an athlete my entire life, I love how competing keeps me balanced. Spiritually, emotionally, mentally and of course physically I feel amazing in contest prep and taking each competition to the next level personally challenging myself. Working with children to instill the importance of proper nutrition, exercise and performing all of this as a "lifestyle" is what I would love to do long term. Motivational speaking to athletes of competitive sports or just the general public wanting to improve their day to day life is also a passion I have in the industry. Mostly I would like to progress down the avenue in motivational speaking of mental wellbeing, as mental health is extremely important as a whole body wellness. As competitors know all to well, if you are not mentally prepared for contest prep, it does not matter if you have the number one nutritionist and coach working with you.

The most understood aspect of my lifestyle that I am told by those surrounding me is my drive and willpower. Working long hours in my career and still making the time to get work outs in, amazes people. I can cook up a storm in the kitchen and be around " unhealthy or non-contest prep food" turn my head the other direction and avoid indulging like it all does not even exist.

The most unusual comment made to me to date was actually a question. The question asked during a low carb cycling contest prep was, " do you lift weights and work out?" Needless to say, I took a deep breath, counted to ten under my breath, took another deep breath and kindly responded with " Yes I do, everyday (smiled and walked away)". I turned to my mother and said to her what I really wanted to reply to that person. Thanks Mom for ALWAYS being there for me.

Over the last year coping with the tragic loss of my father, I thank God everyday for all my father gave to me before he was called home. My mother and I are extremely close, now more so than ever and she continues to make me a better woman by guiding me, supporting me and loving me unconditionally. My two fur children (Labrador retrievers) Champ and Bella are my life. They also get me through my contest preps and workouts being my running partners and helping me sprint. We make it fun and it allows me to spend quality time with them while getting in my work out and playing with them during it all (cont. pg. 16).
