What motivates you and inspires you to workout, diet and compete in fitness? When I turned 35 I noticed that my body was not reacting the same way to dieting and exercising, my metabolism was slowing down and I was feeling pretty depressed about my age, I also have chronic asthma and my asthma was getting out of control.

I had a good friend in the business that encouraged me to start prepping for competition. Now it is all about spreading the word and getting people to live a healthy life style. I believe age is just a number and I want other women my age to feel as good as I feel right now. As a single mom of two teenagers and a very busy career, it is hard to find a good balance in life, once you manage to find that balance you are unstoppable.

What is your favorite part of photo shoots and modeling whether it be certain clothing, posing etc?

My favorite part of a photo shoot is to look back and realize how much I have accomplished is a small period of time. It motivates me to work harder to take my physique to the next level.

What would be your dream career if in the fitness industry?

I would love to create nutrition seminars where I could spread the word about healthy eating and take these seminars to the Latin American countries to spread the word in my own language about the importance of good nutrition and exercise.

What is the most difficult hurdle you see as having overcome that helped you gain focus with fitness and otherwise?

When I was in the middle of prepping after the holidays, I went to the doctor for a physical and he found a mole on my left leg. He didn’t like the appearance of the mole and immediately sent me to another doctor to get a biopsy. I was diagnosed with Melanoma and after couple procedures, I was left with a pretty big scar on my leg. At this point I was very grateful that they took it all out, but worried I was not going to be able to compete again. After my stitches were removed I decided to give my prep my 100 percent to prove myself and others that you can continue to follow your dreams and that the things that happen are only there to make you a stronger person.
