news share your news email: [email protected] NSCC Increase Representation of Specialist Sector The National Specialist Contractors Council (NSCC) continues to grow its membership with the addition of a new member organisation, the Structural Timber Association (STA), from June 2014. STA is the second organisation to join NSCC in as many months after the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) was accepted into membership in May. STA represents a huge majority of the structural timber industry, with over 200 members ranging from suppliers, manufacturers and designers through to contractors and architects. The association provides a united platform to convey the benefits of using structural timber and is committed to the ongoing promotion of structural timber across all sectors of the UK construction industry. NSCC is widely recognised as the voice of Specialist Contractors in the UK and the recent additions to membership further strengthen NSCC’s standing on key business issues, including fair payment, prequalification, training and sustainability. There are now over 30 organisations under the NSCC umbrella, which collectively represent over 7,000 businesses, and the increasing influence of NSCC will enable it to play an ever more central role in tackling the key issues facing the sector. NSCC President Kevin Louch welcomed STA into NSCC membership: “NSCC has already delivered a successful presentation at the recent STA AGM where members were fully supportive of the Fair Payment Campaign and the actions identified in the ‘Industrial Strategy: Construction 2025’.
