SHAUN: “You will notice this is the
first movement that doesn’t require
a machine or cables. Over the years
I’ve had to adapt my training and do
what requires less stress and
presents a lower risk of injury. I find
all these movements safer and more
productive. I love the stretch I get
with dumbbells, but I’m so careful
not to go too deep as it will cause
me injury. What I love about using
dumbbells is that I’m not fixed and
can adjust my elbows closer to my
body. If I want to hit the inner lower
pec, I can also press near the nipple
area. If I want to hit the middle or
upper regions, I will take the elbows
away from the body and press from
higher up the pec. I start on the
20kg dumbbells for the first set, just
to get the body ready for the
