SUCCESS AT THE 2017 KMA ANNUAL
MEETING
KMA PRESIDENT-ELECT BRUCE SCOTT & 11 GLMS RESOLUTIONS PASSED
Physicians from across the state were welcomed to Louisville once
again for the KMA Annual Meeting at the Louisville Hyatt Downtown.
Throughout the weekend of Aug. 25-27, Kentucky’s top doctors
worked together to lead our state to new heights.
Nowhere is this more obvious than in the passing of KMA resolu-
tions. Over two dozen resolutions were passed by the KMA House
of Delegates on Sunday, Aug. 27, including 11 submitted by the
Greater Louisville Medical Society. The approved GLMS resolutions
are listed on page 2.
In other news, GLMS Past-President Bruce Scott, MD, was elected as
the KMA President-Elect for 2017-2018. He had previously held the
position of Speaker of the House. Vice Speaker Danesh Mazloom-
doost, MD, of the Lexington Medical Society then took Dr. Scott’s
place as Speaker. GLMS’s own Monalisa Tailor, MD, was nominated
from the floor for KMA Vice Speaker. There were no challengers and
she was unanimously approved for the position.
In other elections, GLMS Past-President Robert Couch, MD, MBA, was
elected as KMA Secretary/Treasurer. Dr. Bruce Scott was re-elected
as an AMA Delegate. Dr. Couch and GLMS President Rob Zaring, MD,
MMM, were elected as KMA Alternate Delegates to the AMA. GLMS
