LOUISVILLE DOCTORS AT THE
NATIONAL STAGE
GLMS had much to celebrate at this year’s American Medical Association annual meeting
in Chicago. Kentucky’s own Kimberly Moser was elected as AMA Alliance President, and
GLMS Past President Dr. Robert Couch was on hand to speak at her installation breakfast.
Dr. Couch congratulated Moser on the tremendous work she’s done so far and reminded
everyone in attendance about the importance of collaboration and partnership.
Dr. Couch also served as a member of the AMA Reference Committee B (on Legislation)
which considered over 40 resolutions on numerous topics including Patient-Physician text
messaging, Medicare Part B double dipping, skyrocketing drug prices, reducing physician
administrative burdens, alleviating chronic homelessness in the U.S. and protections for
patients with genetic conditions.
Every year, GLMS & KMA are represented by their leadership and elected delegates at the
AMA annual meeting, and we’re always looking for new physicians interested in activism.
If you’d like to take that first step, please register at the following web address to attend
the KMA Annual Meeting in downtown Louisville, Aug 25-27. https://kyma.org/2017-kma-
annual-meeting/
