GLMS AND KMA LOOK AHEAD TO 2018 LEGISLATION As the new year begins, so with it comes a new legislative session in Frankfort. Through the next few months, GLMS and KMA will be making strides to connect physicians with their legislators to have honest conversations about health care concerns. Here are a few of the upcoming events where you can get involved and have your voice heard. » » » » The GLMS Policy & Advocacy (P&A) Team will hold its first meeting on Monday, January 8 at 328 E. Main St. from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. At this meeting, legislative priorities will be discussed and attendees will consider the best courses of action to pursue positive health care legislation. On the evening of Thursday, February 1, GLMS will host a Legislative Reception at Angel’s Envy Distillery in downtown Louisville from 7 to 9. State senators and representatives will be present to discuss policy and long-term solutions for Kentucky health care legislation. » » Throughout the day of Wednesday, February 7, GLMS and KMA physicians will travel to Frankfort to talk directly with representatives for the annual Physicians’ Day at the Capitol. The P&A Team will coordinate to make sure as many legislators as possible are reached on that whirlwind day.
