» » The Board approved an audit report provided
by Larry Judd, CPA, of Judd & Judd, PLLC.
Judd gave a very positive summary in front
of the Board, stating “I’m happy to report
there’s nothing to report.”
» » GLMS Member and Client Services Direc-
tor Jessica Williams gave a major update
regarding the new credentials verification
program in the works. The new service is
named MedCentral Credentialing. Staff
training has already taken place, and both
initial and reappointment applications are
planned for submission to the new database
in November. A full launch is planned for
January. “We’re very excited,” said Williams.
“The services that we can do out of the new
database are amazing.”

CEO/Exec. Vice President Bert Guinn updat-
ed the Board on his experiences working with
the Health Enterprises Network (HEN). “I’ve
seen a lot of really positive work at HEN, and
it’s been a great way to build relationships
with health officials throughout the city of
Louisville,” he said. Guinn and GLMS Foun-
dation Board Member Dr. John Roth both
serve on the HEN Board and HEN’s Manag-
ing Director David Buschman is currently
participating in the GLMS Wear the White
Coat Experience.
Dr. K. Thomas Reichard, GLMS Foundation
President, gave a summary of the Scholar-
ship Golf Outing to the Board and invited
all in attendance to the retirement party of
Foundation Director Terry Todd on October
30 at 5:30 p.m. at Against the Grain.

» » UofL School of Medicine Dean Toni Ganzel,
MD, gave good news, stating that the univer-
sity is expecting a 99 percent pass rate for
step one of board exams. “We’ve bumped our
mean score up about nine points this year,”
she said. “We became a little more compas-
sionately intrusive on their preparation this
year and it’s really paying off.” Dean Ganzel
also thanked the GLMS Foundation for the
scholarships awarded during the golf outing.
» » Erica Sutton, MD, gave an update on the
Surgery on Sunday Louisville program, tell-
ing the Board Surgery on Sunday Louisville
just had its first event in Indiana at Baptist
Floyd. The organization also hired an IT co-
ordinator for website management, social
media and database work. Dr. Sutton was
invited to speak about the program in Atlanta
twice and will soon travel to West Virginia to
talk to two potential facilities as well. She
also mentioned there is talk of extending the
program to Pikeville, Kentucky.
» » The Healing Place President Karyn Hascal
announced the new administration build-
ing will be completed by the end of October
and that phase one of construction on the
men's campus new addiction center will be
completed by mid-December. “We will triple
our capacity for detox this December. That’s
really important because it’s where the real
demand lies,” Hascal said.
