A Hope or a Doubt?

A killer, a danger, a horror, a dread- the
Ebola virus. It took thousands of lives especially in
Africa and eventually spreading its terrifying effects
to many parts of the world. Will the Philippines be
one of its victims? Can an invention by a Filipino
put an end to the horror it brings?
According to medicine net portal, Ebola
virus is a notoriously deadly virus that causes
fearsome
symptoms
, the most
prominent
being
high fever
and
massive
internal
bleeding. This virus kills as many as 90% of the
people it infects. It is one of the viruses that is
capable of causing hemorrhagic (bloody) fever. The
initial symptoms are usually high fever, headache,
muscle aches, stomach pain, and diarrhea. There
may also be sore throat, hiccups, and red and itchy
eyes. The symptoms that tend to follow
include: vomiting, rash, and bleeding problems that
include bloody nose (epistaxis), spitting up blood
from the lungs (hemoptysis), vomiting blood from
the stomach (hematemesis), and bloody eyes
(conjunctival hemorrhages). Then finally come
chest pain shock, and death.
As cited by Rainier Allan Ronda of The
Philippine Star last November 11, 2014, a local device
has been created by Danny Orijuela, a member of the
Filipino Inventors Society Producers Cooperative
(FISPC). According to Orijuela, the local device taps
electrical current to defeat diseases. The effectiveness of
the device has been proven by him since it has saved the
life of his daughter years back.
His daughter, Jennylyn Domondon Orijuela,
has experienced a critical case of dengue fever,
otherwise known as the bleeding stage. With the
help of the multifunctional device, he was able to
rescue his daughter.
Another proof of his claim was that the
device was capable of treating a case of
leptospirosis, which is also in its critical stage.
He says that if we only consider the device's
capability to treat diseases, there is a possibility that
we can kill Ebola, only if it is still at its early stages.
He also adds that if it is worse than that, then the
electrotherapy can do nothing more. He says all
viruses are weak, and that negative ions can
effortlessly kill them.
“Nothing beats electricity in stopping a
virus. I have proven and tested it for more than 30
years.” he declares.
Orijuela's machine is dubbed as a “miracle”,
a new technology that promises to right what is
incorrect with the human body.
The device is described as a machine that
can rebuild and
stimulate
the
natural electric
field
of
an
average human
body.
Orijuela
says
most
ailments are the
product of an
imbalance in the electrical field of the body, most
times because of a drop in supply of negatively
charged ions.
Orijuela's aim is to correct this by filling the
body with anions until it reaches its balance. When
this is done, the body will be free of any diseases.
Will this new invention give the Philippines
the chance to combat if not put an end to
Ebola?
Will we continue to hope for its positive effects
or doubt its effectivity?
