Brandon Maxwell brought the supermodel dance party this season with his September 2019 show. Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, Candice Swanepoel, Grace Elizabeth, Stella Maxwell, and Emily DiDonato twirled down the runway in blazers, slouchy jeans, and button-downs in elevated fabrics — a leap away from his typical evening frocks. This season also boasted Maxwell’s debut of menswear in an expertly tailored fashion, of course. Brandon Maxwell knows how to bring the joie de vivre vibes.
At the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in midtown Manhattan, The Blonds x Moulin Rouge merged fashion, theatre, and music into one epic extravaganza. The luxury apparel brand loves a spectacle, so it was rather fitting that the design duo collaborated with Moulin Rouge cast members to create a show chock-full of over-the-top glamour. Paris Hilton made a grand entrance, floating above the audience on an Eiffel Tower, while Billy Porter crooned Lady Marmalade, and IMG models sparkled down the runway. This may be the NYC-based label’s first theatrical collaboration, but it will certainly leave us reeling for weeks to come.
