Marking Prabal Gurung’s 10th anniversary in the industry, his September 2019 showcase paid homage to American fashion history. Ranging from formal wear to modern athleisure, there was a plethora of rose prints, tie-dye, feathers, and splashes of vibrant color. For the finale, the models took one last spin down the runway, wearing silk sashes printed with the words: “Who gets to be an American?” — alas giving the phrase "fashion statement" a new meaning.
