Born in Germany in 1977, Corneille went to live in Rwanda where his parents were from. There, Corneille was part of a group of R'n'B and won the contest "Decouverte 1993" of the Rwandan television. When the genocide seized the country in 1994, he fled to Germany. His family will not survive. Alone, he immigrated to Quebec in 1997 with his passion for music still in mind.
