About Fitzroy Learning Network
Fitzroy Learning network Inc. (FLN), is a notfor-profit organisation, an affiliated Community
Neighbourhood House Learning Centre and
Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Vision
A strong and socially inclusive community
FLN offers courses for individuals whose interest
is to acquire new skills, exercise their creativity
and supports their social participation. We offer
nationally accredited English as an Additional
Language (EAL) courses, English literacy courses
and computer literacy, access to new technologies
and Internet, and informal learning opportunities.
Purpose
Our client members are mainly newly arrived refugees
and migrants. Our aims are to continue to respond
to the needs of our community and our clients, to
ascertain these needs by listening and to provide
services that will assist their transition into their
new lives in Australia. We also strive to help build
bridges within our ommunity to reduce the level of
segregation and inequality and create social cohesion.

Since August 2000, Fitzroy Learning Network has
been a lead agency in supporting asylum seekers
released from Immigration Detention Centres. Since
then FLN has expanded to support all new arrivals.
