Only Human

But Super-Motivated ! by Dolores Falco see your first scan and then overlay your new scans will be amazing . Seeing yourself in the mirror is one thing , but seeing the changes drawn out in front of you gives a whole new meaning to the naked truth ( no , you ' re not naked when you do the scan ). This will be an absolute game changer for the start of the next Fantastic Four competition . Everyone will be measured the same way and numbers will be more consistent .

In a perfect world , we would all be invincible . Nothing and no one would be able to take us down . We would all be superheroes and be unstoppable . However , that is not reality , and for me , I had to realize the hard way I am not as unstoppable as I thought . I like to give everything my all , never stop until I have reached and exceeded my goals , but a stupid move in my sleep has drastically impacted what I can do and how unstoppable I am . Most people think , how can you get injured in your sleep , aren ' t you safe from injury ? Well apparently NOT , or maybe it is just something that I alone can do . LOL
Several months ago , while sleeping ( I am a stomach sleeper ), my husband rolled over onto my arm and shoulder . In trying to get comfortable again , I moved and sprained my rotator cuff , unknowingly . I had some minor pain , but nothing significant and figured it would go away . I never went to the Dr . for it or stopped what I was doing . I continued lifting heavy and working out , but over the next several months , the pain was getting worse , and I was no longer able to do certain moves and lift as heavy as I once was . I was losing strength in my arm and was finding many things difficult to do . Finally , after much urging from Eileen , I went to see a Physical Therapist , who told me I had sprained my rotator cuff . Lucky for me , I still had great mobility in the arm ( my left arm ), and since I could still workout with modifications every day , I can continue doing so .
The Physical Therapist gave me a whole repertoire of daily stretches and exercises to strengthen and eventually heal my shoulder . I had to give up all boxing ( which I so loved and miss ) and kickboxing classes because punching was only injuring me more , but I can continue strength training with continued modifications . I am very lucky because it could have been much worse and completely derailed me , but the lesson to take away from all this is , that even something you think is minor can be something serious . Do yourself a favor and get yourself checked out if something hurts . I am lucky it is just a sprain , but I now must give up things I enjoy because I waited so long and

figured I was unstoppable .
So , the holidays are finally over , resolutions have all been made , and new goals have been put in place . I too didn ' t keep all my promises that I made to myself and put back on a

couple of pounds over the holidays . I ' m not happy with myself for it , but I am human , and I know it is going to happen . I know what I need to do and with all the new fantastic machines at FI , I am excited to try them all .
The new Styku 3-D full body scanner is finally in , and I got the opportunity to have my full assessment done . It was a real eye-opener for me . You put all your information in the system and then stand on this turntable , and it scans your body , gets all your measurements and compiles all the information to give you an accurate body fat and body composition report . To see what your body looks like on the 3-D scan is a real eye-opener , there is no living in denial of what your problem areas are once you see it for yourself . I set goals in the program , and it gave me the correct information I need to be able to hit my goal . Cannot wait to see the difference in my 3-D body scan when I obtain the new goal . To be able to

So far , I have only tried out the new stair climbers and the rowing machines . I am very familiar with the rowers and need to get on them more often . Rowing is such a good exercise for me , especially with my shoulder injury . The stair climber is going to take a bit getting used to . I like it , but I need to figure out the right workout for me on it . I get bored easily on any machine , so the sooner I figure it out , the more likely I am to stay on it longer and incorporate it into my daily workouts . I am looking forward to trying the other new equipment and incorporating new things into my workouts as well .
There is a slew of new classes as well . I was taking boxing with Kristen Havdoglous – which is absolutely amazing – until I had to stop due to my shoulder . Cannot wait to get back in there once I am cleared for punching again . The workout you get in that class is intense but so good . I would leave there feeling like I could conquer the world and then the good type of soreness would kick in the next day . I ' m looking forward to trying Flyoga with Dina , and Uptown Barre is something I want to try and get to as well . I am always looking to try new things and work new muscles . Changing things up in your routine is always a plus .
I continue training with Eileen and Jillian , working out with my pal Michelle and new people all the time . I love personal training in small groups as well as in private sessions . Both Eileen and Jillian know what I can do and continue to motivate and push me to go further . Even with my shoulder injury , they know how to modify the exercises for me , so I can get the benefit of the exercise without further injuring myself . I cannot wait till my shoulder is all healed and I can go back to doing everything without modification or limitations . Until then I do what I can and set modified goals . A nice benefit of working with both Eileen and Jillian is that I am guaranteed a great workout ,
